I'm posting this again with hopes that someone can help me. I've got a '96 Mustang that is driving me to distraction with the Check Engine light. The code that comes up is P1131. According to what I can find out, this is "Lack of H2OS sensor--Lean." The problem is that no one can tell me how to correct this problem. The only advice that the guys at Ford could give me was "try a gas additive." I did that and the light still comes on. So now I'm lost. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this crap to stop?

Could just be the actual O2 sensor. If that's bad, the car thinks its not getting any oxygen to the engine, thus CEL comes on. Make sure that all the wires are connected to the air sensor. You'll have to take apart the airbox to check that, but it's really easy to do. Just for plastic latches hold the two pieces together, once you get those popped off, it's comes apart easy, and you'll see the connectors. Also make sure that the little metal grate inside there is where it's supposed to be. Sometimes not having that there messes up the air sensor.
