Checking codes?

I haven't touched this car in awhile. I feel rusty. I need to pull the codes, don't have a scanner, have always used the Check Engine Light. Most instructions tell you to use a jumper between the single wire and the harness. I can't find this single wire under my hood for the life of me. Come to think of it, emissions checks with the connector under the dash so everything must be there, you just have to connect the right wires. Can someone quickly explain it or link it to for me. I feel like such a noob.

Well, if your mystery car is ODB2 then AutoZone will pull yer codes...

just go too autozone and have them pull the code. BUT do not take there diag advice. bring the codes and any info here and maybe we can help
