I've been reading alot about the DiabloSport tuners and such for the v6. Has anyone used one, and what kind of power gains did they get? I know you have to run 91 octane fuel in order to use it. If you run a higher octane fuel does it effect your fuel economy at all? I'm not really interested in spending more money on gas and then getting less gas milage. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It will not decrease your gas mileage and might even improve it. If you have an automatic or are considering a rear gear change in the future it's even more worthwhile to get one

QUESTION: [Does a chip make a difference on a manual transmission car? I've heard the bigest difference it makes is shift points, which (unless I'm mistaken) are controlled by the driver in a manual.

3.8l 1998 Mustang 5 spd]

------------------------------------------------------------

ANSWER:
Dear ian,

Yes the chip will still have a performance gain with a manual transmission. The changes that are made to shifting does only apply to manuals however there is always timing and fuel adjustments that add horsepower and torque. You should still feel an improvement with any transmission.

Thank you for your interest in DiabloSport!
Stay tuned,

Yeah you can use the Diablo Sport predator to take the top speed limiter off. Its not a good idea. Its there for a reason.

Is 91 octane fuel the higest grade fuel or just 1 step up from regular?

91 octane is the highest grade (premium) pump gas in some parts of the U.S., in other parts 93 octane is the highest. 89 octane (mid-grade) is the fuel that's one step up from regular.

The Predator only has Mustang applications back to 1998 models. For a 94 model you probably have to go with a chip rather than a flash tuner, because I believe the type of OBD port that a flash tuner is plugged into to access your vehicle's computer wasn't used until 1996.

Damn. Is it worth getting the predator for a v6 and paying the extra 20cents a gallon for gas? How much power should I expect?

the port where u plug the Flash tuner in is on the 94-95 model because if im right its the same spot u plug the crap into to check why ur check engine light is on. Also about the speed limiter whats the big deal if i take it off. My friends civic is limited at 120 and our Mustangs are limited a at 115 so what would be the big deal removing the speed limiter? If a civic can do it we can do it better
