They're not spinning rims like you see on Escalades and stuff like that, it's the chrome center cap as shown here...it's called a spinner.

The spinner type that is on the 05 wheel. Has been around a lot longer than the spinner that evryone is now familiar with.

Does it spin independently of the wheel? I think that would still be pretty lame (makes me think of those hats with the propeller), but if it spins with the wheel I think it looks awesome .

I'm no ttrying to be mean when I post this. But do you honestly think Ford would spend that much time on a wheel? Especially on the V6 model. It rotates with the wheel. Just like the original spinners.

They're called "knock-offs". Calling them "spinners" makes it too easy to confuse them with those tacky-a** things some people put on their land yachts!

Me too I figured even the kids these days would know what a real spinner was.

But its that tri bar center cap in the picture above. It does not spin differently than the wheel. It is firmly attached.

Since no one has mentioned it, they are called knock-off's because they were used primarily for racing. My father has a '63 vette which came optioned with the original knock off rims, you kick the spinner and the wheel comes off, for racing. 1 lug, the spinner holds the rim on, pretty damn badass from the factory.

They added the spinner to mainly add to the retro flavor of the car. Especially for the V6 since the GT has a bit more of that flavor.

Those V6 wheels are a retro-take from the old Halibrand wheels used on Cobras and GT40's. The Halibrands used to have spinners, so they've re-created the "look" on the new wheel as an option. Looks bitchin IMHO. However... I wouldn't be buying a V6 unless hell froze over.

Those wheels won't work on a 95 V6 would they

And is the rumor true they change the lug pattern? If so why did they do that.

They'd look a lot better than the stock rims on my 99 v6 too, but I heard a rumor they don't fit.

They should fit, ford isnt going to change the lug pattern and the backspacing shouldnt hurt you on a 7 inch wide wheel.

Looks SWEET !!

They are not called spinners, just Knock offs.

Named because you knock them off with a special soft hammer !
