Some turbo hondas can be fast.

On my way to work i regular pass a turbo civic on the highway. We've played a few times and he can definitely hang with me on the highway.

Not to mention the newer Civic SI's are damn nice looking cars. I would take one of the blue SI's with a stick as a DD anyday.

Exactly, Mustangs aren't exactly high end sports cars. If anything civics hold their value better than Mustangs

civics are a joke si or not...

even if he was turbo...how long do you think it would take for him to run you down after you pull like 5 cars on the launch?...

hell it took a 12 second integra up to 80 mph to catch me when I ran 14.6

race him from a stop...it will be a joke.

1) I've removed the "large"from my sig. Until I figure outhow to shrink the picture I'll remain in compliance.

2) If the race is a straight line and you lose, that Civic is better. If you race with lefts and rights and you lose, the Civic is better. In regard to that particualr race, the winner is better.

3) Forget the girl, the $ you spend on her will be better served in the car (and the headaches will not exist later).

Cheers!

No...but we are comparing a "Sports Car" to an econobox with fancy badges. They may all fall under the same "bean counter" North American build standards, but at the very least we need to admit these cars aren't even in the same league!!!

...and resale value?!?

So.....is that saying an F150 is a better vehicle than a Corvette because it holds it's resale value better?

I didnt read all the replies so forgive me if it has already been said. Have you seen/heard his car? If so then it would sound very built if you get what I am saying. It would take quite a bit of bottom end build up for that civic to run any kinda of boost let alone boost and "NOS" I owned a 1999 civic si...... he is full of shyt. If he were to have a stage 2 turbo kit and NOS then chances are the motor will be wasted on the first pass. Dont waste your time. People pull up next to me all the time and try to "run'em". I am sorry I dont live my life a red light stop to the next red light but it isnt worth what I pay in gas to say, "I smoked yet another civic today." Given there are those that are fast and built but most you will see are built because they are track cars and are almost empty of an interior anyways. Dont get me wrong I liked my civic. It was economical and had a little umph to it. Plus it handled like crazy when I dropped sportlines in it but in no way could I ever keep up with even a lightly modded fox or 4.6. Save the gas unless you see him at the track. THen blow him away. Guaranteed he will never meet you at the track regardless.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!!!! I am reminded of an old phrase when I read this, driving a civic is like competing in the special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded.

I dont care how fast a civic goes how can you claim it to be better than a mustang or a v-8 muscle car???

So tell me Dale, by your logic since my "boat" of a '96 Mercury Cougar can beat you in a strait line and around corners, it's a "better" car than your Mustang?

....c'mon, I just want to hear a Mustang owner admit it...just once.

Sure.

If your "boat" of a cougar can beat me in a straight line or around corners than your boat is better than mine in a straight line and around corners.

Hell, a Mini can out corner a Mustang. Is it a better car? Around a corner, yes. Overall? That's personal opinion.

What's the big deal? Some cars are made to do things better than others. Fact of life, deal with it....

I usually try to stay out of these little nit-picky threads. I guess it is just me but how can you keep comparing a civic to a mustang or a mini cooper? Have you ever been in a mini cooper s?? It embarrasses a civic. Those things are soo wicked it isnt even funny. Yes look is only given to ones preference I think on this we can agree. This whole thread is based on opinion regardless. A mustang or a mini cooper are in different leagues that are both far above a civic. You are comparing a car (mini) with german engineering taken from a BMW m-3 and another car (mustang) with over 30 years of legacy. given the 80's werent great but I would buy an 80's mustang over an 80's civic.

this line gets me though

besides gas mileage what was a civic "made" to do better than a mustang? Maybe I am just not understanding your side of the arguement "if he wins then his car is better." I would understand "if he wins then his car is faster, or if he wins he is a better driver" but the whole car thing gets me. Even when I had my civic I still longed to have another mustang. Especially when I would seen one on the road blow by my honda. you are entitled to your opinion I guess.

Seriously, I am ashamed that i had to ask the question. Well it turns out that it's actually the girl's friend's boyfriend, and he doesn't have a turbo or the alleged "nos". So I've decided that since the girls friend is <- I'm not going to waste gas/clutch/tire wasting that piece of crap. Thanks for the support though

and the best way to end a conversation with a ricer is to say.. ok let's :Track: , because they don't want to know the reality that their car actually runs a 17 second quarter

Further emphasizes my point. Everyone's idea of "better" is different. Some people think raw HP is "better", some think handling is "better" so think resale, gas milage, quality, price, etc are all standards of "better"

SO it really depends on who you ask which car is technically better since we all live and drive by different standards.
