Classic Coupe Gauge pods?

Hi Folks;

I'm currently using the haneline 6-gauge insert:
Fuel level
Water Temperature
Battery Volts
Oil Pressure
Speedo
Tach.

I have need to asthetically mount additional gauages:
- NOS pressure
- Fuel Pressure
- Trans fluid Temperature

and would like to mount 1,2 or all three on the pillar. Has anyone retro-fitted piller pods for other cars OR does someone know of a pod that is made for the classic mustangs?

I have tried several and have not been pleased with the fit yet. I'm waiting on one for a Buick GN to try next. The late model Mustang ones ('87-93) have been used by a few people, but I'm not pleased with the "fit" so I continue to look.

Gauge Pods

Here is how I mounted my electric Autometer SportComp nitrous pressure and fuel pressure gauges in my car (although I will be replacing them with oil pressure and water temp since I decided not to use nitrous right now):

I don't see why this same setup would not look just as nice on a 65/66 (even though the pod isn't original equipment for those years) The pod is actually a low-profile Rally-Pac housing turned upside down. You could also mount is as a Rally-Pac on the steering column if you don't already have one, the only problem is it has only two gauges (2-5/8" by the way).

The same guy that makes the 2-pod is working on a three pod version, but it would probably only mount under the dash, I doubt it would look right on the column.

If you would like the maker's name, send me an e-mail or PM here. The 2-pod unit, which I have, is an absolutely top quality piece, I am very satisfied with it.

C'ya!

Some great ideas!

My only reservation with an under-dash type of mount is that I run the aftermarket console and have a vintage air unit. Meaning, the center part of the dash is pretty darned crowded already.

I'm ver interested in the guage pod attempts folks have made. Depending on the material, a heat gun could work pretty darned well to shape them to the classic coupe. This might be especially easy for me as I have no glass or dash in the car and would be able to shape easily from all sides.

Anybody no a good one to try?
