Classic Mustang Stereo Install

I know most of the comments here are about late model Mustangs. That being said I'd love for some input on head unit placement for a 1968 with a center console and factory ac. Some are mounting in the glove compartment, however, with the factory ac there doesn't seem to be enough space. Cutting the dash or console is out of the question, so where to mount? The head unit is a Clarion pro audio DXZ845mz that I was able to get for half-price. The car is getting some modern touches without going crazy. The interior for sound purposes will be given a coat os secondskin spectrum v.2. Thanks for the input.

The stock radio location hasn't got enough room for an aftermarket install? I can't recall the dash sizing on a classic, it's been a while since I've been in one.

What I would do is get a CD changer mounted in the trunk, and route the controller to the front, mounting it on the dash, below the dash, or on your console. Whichever is more comfy for you, however personally I would blend it with the dash somehow.

I had a stereo in my 67 that fit in the stock box, I got it from Dallas Mustang, it looked like the stock face 90% even had the pull out pre-sets, any way you pressed a button and it flipped up to insert a cd or cassette. The newer styles have an 8 Track look alike that holds MP3s. Pricey but worth it if you show or like the stock look.

All my speakers were stealth, kickpanels, origonal center dash, and under the rear seat. Amps and stuff mounted in the stealth box under the seat as well.

Wasnt the best system but was VERY stealth.
