could someone go through the clay bar process...

i have black car...

painted about 1yr ago and i notice some spots on the clearcoat...i think from bird crap...

heard clay bar was good for that...someone help please?

Spray down the surface in a 2 foot area, with the stuff that comes with the bar. Rub the bar over the paint, until you feel the paint smooth. Wipe off the liquid from the paint, and wax it. I found a meguires kit that worked great on my 'stang.

sorry for dumb questions...i pretty naive about detailing and such...

1)do i apply press?
2)do i rub back and forth
3)what if it doesnt get these 'spots' off...any i doing it wrong or will some just not come off?

sorry again

just gentle pressure, if any is all you need. Rub the clay in a circular pattern over the wet area. If the spots don't come off, you will need to either buff the car yourself, or have someone else do it. I recommend having someone do it for you, as you can burn through the paint pretty quickly when buffing.

i hope...i live close to the beach but my shop is 2 rs away...

it rains constantly here and its IMPOSSIBLE to keepo a clean car....

workin on my beater right now (tranny)

as soon as its fixed my car is gong for a good cleanin and gonna be put in the closed up shop for a while...

it makes me sick to work to keeop a car clean and then have to keep it outside, as i do now...

thatll change soon

1. Wash and dry car
2. spray quick detailer that comes with clay on section to be worked
3. rub clay bar back and forth no hard pressure needed you will see once you start using it and be able to tell when it is time to move to the next section. Keep the area wet with the spray detailer where you are working it acts as a lube for the clay
4. Wash and dry car
5. Wax Car
6. Take pics of sparkling car while enjoying a cold beer
7. Post pics.
Have fun, i had a black car and the clay bar worked wonders takes time but was well worth it. Dan

The most important step there is #7. Keep in mind that if you don't completely follow that step, your paint will peel off within 24 hours. :spot:

What other lubricant can you use w/the clay bar?
Whats in the stuff they sell along w/the clay bar?
How about using plain old water w/some mild soap?

You can use soap & water for lubricant.
Usually some spray shine.
Yes.

If you really want to get all the old wax off & start over, use Dawn dishwash soap. Clay bar after wash with Dawn.
