Cleaning Engine

Soak it with simple green, then spray it off with a hose. Try and not to spray any electrical fittings directly and you shold be fine. Also, some places may take some scrubbing with a rag to get it clean.

I saw a thread on the talk section where some guy used foaming tire cleaner and that made his engine look nice.

when you are done... and if you live in an urban area, spray foaming tire cleaner and turn the engine on and let it run (warm) this will set the shine down in every crack.

this makes for major bling in pics etc etc. some prefer no shine.

take some steel wool to the aluminum parts (brackets etc etc )

Hey VibrantRedGT ....What's your secret?

Have RC help you! :rlaugh:

For Real: you CAN Spray all the wires and hoses with WD-40. That loosens the oily stains without harming the wires.

the only problem with SG is if you let it sit on there for a while... one more thing, don't use it straight from the bottle... you should dilude it about 50/50 w/ watter (I like warm, but it doesn't matter really, it's the warm pressure washer that does the real miracle job) just spray it over the entire engine bay, everything you want clean at least :D, then, go get the Pressure Washer out, hooked up, get a towel, and spray it down... no hurry, but withing 5 min would be good...

-just spray the bay down until you don't get anymore suds forming all over the place... make sure it's really well rinsed off...

-any more question, feel free to ask... I detailed cars for 2 years of my life (for money) and another 3 before that just for fun...

I use simple green (like a gallon jug i got from sams) and mixed it in a spray bottle to 1:5 sg:water ratio. sprayed the entire motor with it, let it sit for a few mins then sprayed it down with a hose. didnt cover anything, even the distributer got quite wet and it fired right up when I was done doing it
