cleaning my a/c compressor

Can anyone tell me what to clean my a/c compressor in my 89GT with?

hydrochloric acid should do the trick... lol

but really, any kid of degreaser and a scrub it good... like some simple green...

The outside, its on the car. Looks pretty bad next to all the chrome I have on the new motor.

Doesn't March have a chrome cover for the compressor body?

They have a pulley cover that bolts to the pulley.

Any strong degreaser will clean it. Get some of that and a scrub brush.

Hmmm... somewhere, I've seen a chrome, bolt-on shroud for the AC compressor. If it wasn't March then I can't recall who it was that made the thing.

He's not crazy, I have seen the covers as well.
To answer the original question:
Use wheel cleaner on it. The stuff kicks ass on bare aluminum. Be careful not to get it on the polished or plated or you will be re-polishing.

Prep it, paint it Semi-gloss black.
