Cleaning the upper intake

so the other day i decided to clean my TB and there was quit a bit of crap on it. then i looked in the upper intake and it looked terrible. my question is if I did clean would i notice any gain or benefit from this at all? I searched the site for a while and got some good advice on how to do it. but how hard is it?? is it just a bolt off, bolt on procedure?? also would i need buy a new gasket, or anything else? Thanks,
Mike

If you have access to a power washer that may make cleaning easier. Also, an air compressor would be good to blow out the water. I think you should be able to reuse the upper intake gasket as long as it's not damaged during removal. I don't know about gains from cleaning. Peace

I don't know about any power gains either, but it should make the idle smoother and improve gas mileage. You could take off the intake to clean it or run Seafoam thru it without removing intake...using the brake booster vacuum line.
