Clearcoat vs 2-part paint

What are the pros and cons to painting a car with a standard paint job buffed to a high gloss versus using paint w/clearcoat finish ???

using a single stage makes it a little harder on getting a nice shine to it and it will never have the depth that a base and clear system has. and removing orange peal is a lil easier on clear than single stage laquer based paint.
