clearence problem

my alt. is hitting the valve cover on my 94 any on else had this problem

have you replaced either the alternator or valve covers?? does the alt bracket look bent? anything else done to the engine? need more info

i have taller fox boby valve covers. i had to grind part of the alternator in order for it to fit. had no choice

Like Kyle, I run the Fox vc's.

I did not want to grind down the Alt's electrical post.

I just used a thin washer under all three alt mounting bolts to shim the alt outward just a wee bit.

We are only talking a few thousandths of an inch here
so
It won't hose with belt alignment

Just another option for you

thnkas guys, i think i'm using the stock valve covers we have so many mustang parts laying around,

stock covers... stock alt..... you have problems?
Obviosly something ain't quite right.
