Cleveland heads

Does anyone know when they stopped putting the 4 with the dot on the corner of the 351 Cleveland heads? I'm trying figure out what year the heads/engine are actually from. The motor is currently in a 70 Mach 1 that I'm going to buy and I don't want it to be from a "pooch" year. Thanks!

cleveland four barrel heads were made from 1970 to 1973 which was the last year for the cleveland engine. after that they were 351m's based on the 400 block. i believe the last year for the closed chamber four barrel heads was 1971.

73 was the last year the were installed in Mustangs and Cougars, but 74 was the last year they were available in Torinos. After 40 or-so years, anything could happen, and the engine could be a collection of parts from several yers. The only way you're going find out definitively, is to tear it down and check the numbers and dates.
