Since my throwout bearing has been chirping on my '02 GT like a crazy little bird I have become acutely aware of all other strange noises.

We have a parking garage at work so I can hear noises that I probably wouldn't during normal driving. I noticed that there is a fairly pronounced clicking noise when I was turning right in the parking garage. It sounded like it was coming from one of the driver's side wheelwells, probably the front though I couldn't exactly tell which. When I leave today I'll try to listen if it makes the noise when I turn left.

Anyways, the noise appears to only happen when I am turning and is definately in time with the rotation of the wheels. I was not applying the brakes when I was turning and I was going pretty slow (5-10mph).

Anyone have an idea as to what may be the cause? I'm thinking maybe wheel bearing, loose lugnuts, or something with the brakes but I really don't know. I'll probably end up taking it back into the dealer under warranty to check for that as well as the TOB chirping (yet again!) but I'd like to have an idea before I go. TIA

I'll probably end up taking it in to the dealer next week and I'll post what they find. They'll probably say that it isn't making the noise for them like last time.

Mine did the same and it drove me nuts until I fixed it!! Tighten your rack and pinion bolts. There is 2 of them and they will in time loosen up. Stopped the ticking when turning.

Thanks, I'll check that first chance I get though I *think* I may have fixed it. While doing a search someone posted something about checking for loose lugnuts. After work I got the lug wrench out and checked them all. While applying moderate torque all were found to be tight EXCEPT the lugnuts on the front driver's side wheel. I was able to tighten them each about 1/8 of a turn or so. I didn't hear the clicking noise on the way home but I'll listen for it tomorrow morning when I arrive at the parking garage again. Hopefully that fixed it.

That's what I found on mine, clicking while turning. I'm sure that was your problem.

Well, the clicking noise is still there. When I got to work I circled around in the garage and I could hear it again. I'll have to check out the rack & pinion bolts when I get a chance. Dang it! I hate issues like this, can't tell if it's "just a noise" that I don't need to worry about or a sign of impending doom.
