Clunk after putting car in gear

I get a clunk under acceleration right after I shift into gear sometimes. I felt the driveshaft to check the u joints and the driveshaft had some play in it. I then replaced both u joints and the play was gone. I drove it again today and I was getting the same problem, again not every shift, only on occasion. Any ideas?

Excessive play (backlash) in the gears perhaps?

bad tranny mount? push up on the rear of the tranny and see if the mount separates.

check the tranny mount, but check the motor mounts too.

still have the noise?
i went CRAZY for about a year befor finding it to be the bolts connecting the driveshaft to the rear

eather to tight or loose i forgot but prety sure way to tight check them mine was kind of a click sound in the rear while shifting
