Hi all:

I recall reading here a thread about 05-07 GT mustangs having a lound rear-end 'clunk' with the 3.55 gear. I searched the forum and found the thread where this was discussed- but I didn't see any clear resolution.

Is this still a problem with new factory-built GT mustangs with the 3.55? Should I opt for the factory stock ratio to avoid the off-chance of having to 'just live with' a new car that clunks, clangs or otherwise acts unpleasant?

I'll be ordering a new GT mustang shortly....

Thanks for the advice, in advance.

Yeah, I have this problem, and some service engineer is coming out on the 29th to look at it. But after 6 times attempting to fix it, the dealer whips out this "special service bulliten" that states the noise in "normal" and the dealers no longer had to attempt to fix it. We flipped on them. We asked them "Should I let all my friends know with 05+ Mustangs that they need to go to the dealer and have this "normal" clunk installed???? Where was this "normal" clunk option on my window sticker??" They're idiots.
