So ever since I put my new shocks and struts in my 1994 mustang gt, there was a mild crunching/clunking noise coming from the front end. The noise seems to arise most when the car's moving very slowly and the wheels are cut almost all the way, such as when I'm parking in a lot or turning a corner. My friend seems to think it's likely my ball joints. I've already replaced the outer tierod ends, and that doesn't leave much to be replaced in the front end. The car has 127,000 on it so an expensive repair is not what I'm looking for. How much would a ball joint repair cost anyhow?? Also If anyone is living the East Bay California and knows a good Mustang repair shop please let me know cuz I'm new to Bay area and lost all my good mustang connections. I'm in Pleasanton. Thanks in advance.

It's probably not the problem.... but do a quick check of the brace in the K-member area that is dead center in the middle of the car. It's a straight bar with a bolt in each end, and points towards each front tire. When my car made a funny popping noise like that, one of the bolts was a "half" turn from tight. Crazy I know... but someone on here pointed it out and all be damned if they weren't right. LOL

At least if it's the wrong info, it's free and VERY easy to check while you are under there.
