Hi Fellas I am new here and need a piece of advise here!!I recently installed a new Competition Stage 3 clutch on the stang, Everything fit and was put back togother properly. The problem is the clutch doesnt engage right when let go the clutch pedal, instead it engages way to end of the clutch pedal distance. The Stang does have a adjustable clutch cable I sort of mess with it for bit but did not make any difference. How can I fix this problem? Thanks in advance Sancho

Just because I might not have followed you:

If your point of engagement is right on the floor (the pedal is in the carpet), tighten your adjustable cable.

If your point of engagement is right at the top of the clutch pedal (you barely have to push the pedal down in order to change gears), loosen the adjuster nut.

Good luck and welcome to the boards!

It's good to have it release high as long as it doesn't slip. Most high performance clutches I've ever installed release high which is much better for powershifting than a low releasing clutch. With a firewall adjuster, you want the thickness of a dime if you lean over the fender and pull on the cable away from the firewall. If you have that little bit of freeplay you're in good shape. Once you're used to driving it with a high pedal you won't like a low pedal especially if you like powershifting.

EMW150 thats what i had in mind, this the first time I buy a stage 3 performance clutch tend for drag racing only and the clutch does grab super strong no slipping, but I thought it was something I ve done wrong and wanted to make sure it was good before I abuse it LOL:D All other clutches I bought in past have been mild or street perfromance clutches. Thanks for the input :SNSign:
