Clutch Cable And Quadrant

Hello all, I just purchased my 88 GT and noticed the clutch pedal is tough to push in, and the clutch engages pretty early. I crawled my 6'1 self under the dash and found a Ford racing quadrant, and a blue adjuster on the firewall. I'm assuming the hard pedal is a worn out cable or in lubed? I also can't adjust, I pulled the cable and attempted to rotate the first ring on adjuster counter clockwise but it's not moving. Should I just replace the cable? And if so, what hook (there's 2) on the quadrant should the cable be attached to? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think with the firewall adjuster you use the hook closest to the firewall. Been awhile since I saw this video.

Ford Racing uses a single hook quadrant. The Ford racing cable for use with the quadrant is an adjustable cable,.
