Clutch Cable install...NOT ENOUGH CABLE..??

OK so IM hour 2 into the install and ive been stuck here for a while. After installing quadriant and running the cable back through the firewall and down to the clutch fork..for what ever reason there is not enough cable, it stops like 5 cmm out from the clutch fork...WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ...

im using the BBk kit... my oem cable snaped in half !

Start with the simple possibilities...Verify the part number is correct, they may have made a mistake and gave you the wrong one. If you have a multi-hook quadrant, use a different hook. If you have a firewall adjuster,give it a few turns to free-up slack. Verify you routed the cable correctly, you may want to get it on the fork before you secure the bracket in the engine compartment.

I used the Steeda kit and had no problems. Good luck!

now wich way should i turn to ease up the slack.... I can get it on the fork, but then i cant get it on the quadriant..?? I can get it on the quadriant but cant get on the fork...see my issue ?

I hope it isn't an adj cable, you will have problems with that one too. I had that very cable stretch on me. Never again will I use an adj cable after seeing all the bad press these things have.

And yes it is adjustable...I hate it already, Were I live the ford dealer takes for ever to order a part. I cant wait to long so I settled for less......I figured 3 months the new K member and in 4 weeks the new driveshaft, if ford can get me an OEM cable soon Ill do it at one of those intervels!

Yeah after mine crapped out at the track, I picked one up from the dealer. Luckily it was in stock and I got my Cost price(worked for their sister dealership)

ok just finished the install, clean up everything and took her for a spin....

NOT MORE THAN 15 miles later i hear a pop, under the clutch....I check the quadriant and fine, I check the cable , seems fine, so I pop the hood and VOLLA, it looks like the cable outside black sleeve snap in half, cable still fine, but now it only engages AT THE FLOOR, not cool at all..... I just bought the kit, can I take it back or should I just bite the bullet, deal with for a few more days until i get the OEM one. And yes the cable is Ajustable !!

Second does anyone know were I can get an OEM clutch cable. My dealer is out now and it would take a long time he said, hell Ill even pay for overnight if I can have it by Friday !

Summit Racing, order the FRPP adjustable one. I have this one on my car and haven't had any problems with the 2nd one. I'm not sure what the deal was with the 1st one, I think with the cold weather during the winter time that I did drive the car I stretched the cable out by not letting it warm up good enough before driving. I've had the 2nd cable since the beginning of the spring here and it feels smooth as silk still and only needed to readjust it once after install. Just my $0.02.

FYI I"m pretty sure the stock clutch cable is designed to only work with the plastic quadrant to self adjust. So if your using aftermarket quadrant and stock cable you won't be able to adjust it properly... also summit is good about overnighting items from my experience.

Stock non adjustable cables!! Search all the Mustang sites. There are tons of threads of where people have had problems with adj cables. Yes you may see 1 or 2 with stock cable issues, but nothing compared to adjustable ones.

OK sweet IM dropping the car off at my clutch guy in the am tommorow,... Im just going to ask him to install the OEM cable for me and check the fork. Just in case I F'd something up ! Thanks for all the help GUYS !!!

hahahahaha Ya , so I bit the bullet today, took it to my buddy at a clutch shop... here is the low down, CLutch fork was shot to S**T, the cable was crap out as well... so 200.00$$$ later she FEELS GREAT I LOVE IT ! 50 for a new cable, 80 for a new fork and the rest was labor.

And yes I got an OEM cable

Really? How exactly was it 'shot'? I know the pivot ball and cooresponding 'socket' can get worn...more the pivot ball than the socket...but how exactly was your fork 'shot'?
