Clutch Cable Woes

SO after I put in my cable, I start the car and drive it and whenever I put more then 40% pressure of the pedal the clutch slips and it revvs up. I tried adjusting the cable at the tranny and that didnt do anything. Im thinking the cable is defective, because I had to pry the clutch fork so the cable can slip through the hole. Its a ford heavy duty cable matched to a steeda double hook quadrant with no firewall adjuster.
 
No, they dont rub each other. I think it has to do with the fact that the cable is so short then when I pryed the clutch fork into the calbe part of the clutch is already disengaged, hence why when I try to get on it it slips. But im not positive..
