clutch help please

My flywheel was worren and i figured to put a new clutch in at the same time. but now trying to shift gears is a no go. i looked at the throw out bearing and its touching the diafram all the time. It gives a inch free play and then becomes hard pushing when it used to be easy to push. what have i done wrong.
I have a 1988 2.3L

you might try adjusting your clutch the new clutch might give too much slack on the stretched cable.

Thanks for your response. I came across that adjuster and pushed it up it readjusted right back to the same spot. I should have noted that the clutch is also harder to push down now. but definate wont in gauge.
