Clutch Issue?

When I bought the car (2000 GT), it was really hard to get into gear and shift. I just replaced the clutch cable and added a billet quadrant and firewall adjuster. I have the pedal just where it should be. Sometimes it shifts like butter, other times it still goes very hard into gear. Reverse ALWAYS grinds unless I put it in any forward gear first, then it slides right into reverse. What's up with that?

My 02 is finicky going into reverse as well. I just put it in 1st, then reverse and never have a problem.

As for the rest, are you still using the stock shifter? When I put my MGW shifter in, it cleaned up a lot of the sloppy shift feel.

dont mean to hijack the thread but what do you guys think about this clutch kit matched with an oem flywheel?
