clutch job done, whats squeaking??

I have had this problem twice since changing multiple Mustang clutches. I find that on a T-5, you must replace the bearing retainer with a steel one. Then the bearing will no longer squeek as the aluminum stock retainers seem to go slightly out of round. So take that tranny back out and throw on a retainer. The retainers are about $40-$50. Steeda and your dealer are decent places to get the retainer.

I have to do the same change on my cobra when I get around to adding a king cobra clutch. Might as well do it ALL once the tranny is out. Especially since I don't have a lift.

Chris, AFAIK, your 93 Cobra (with the Cobra spec T5, right?) should have come with a steel input bearing retainer.

I knew the tranny was different, but I havent had it out yet. I may just have a TB problem here. I have 60K on the ODO and will soon be installing a HD clutch, Adj cable setup and will check the retainer. I have to have the trans serviced too. I may just get a TKO 500 setup since it would only cost about $500 more. Always got something to upgrade huh?

Cheers, Merry Christmas
