3 months ago I put in a new clutch in my 96 GT because the throw out (like most stangs after 60k) had been squeaking and had gotten really bad. Everything came from D&D to include; clutch, pressure plate, pilot, and throw out. I also resurfaced the fly for good measure. It has worked well up till now. The stock clutch quadrant self adjusts itself to loose. The car is trying to pull with the pedal to the floor on top of being a pain to get in gear. I bent the metal tab that the self adjust mechanism hits to adjust, out of the way so that I would have a manual adjustment. On top of all of this the throw out is making worse noise than the old one did right before I replaced it. What is the cure to stop eating throw out's and to keep the clutch adjustment where it needs to be???? Would an aftermarket quadrant solve all of my problems???

As far as the quadrant. The Stock one is a POS. I highly would suggest getting an aftermarket quadrant and firewall adjuster. I seem to remember something about the stock quadrant not being able to handle the pressure from an aftermarket clutch but I could be wrong.
