Got my 89 up and running yesterday – new engine and Cobra clutch, good T5 transmission. My problem is tons of noise/chattering whenever the clutch is being let out. Fully pushed in – there is no noise! It starts outs low and increases the more you let the clutch out – fully off the clutch and it is REALLY loud! It is RPM dependent too – the sound it almost like what kids would do with baseball cards in the wheel spokes of their bicycle tires.

Best I know is that I put everything together on this Auto to T5 conversion. I am pulling everything this weekend to take a look for any wear marks or something not put on correctly. I just want to get some ideas or suggestions on what may be the issue or problem. The only other thing I might think of was a 2 piece motor to T5 spacer that was used – but makes no sense as to clutch position…and just an un-related issue of the RPM’s spiking when the clutch is let out…back to sensors and connections!!!

THANKS for the help! I will post back with what I find….

red thread locker on all the bolts? That's the biggest issue I've seen with this problem. The flywheel bolts back out of the crank, the plate bolts back out of the flywheel.... I know it blows to have to pull apart again but you're gonna have to.
