i have noticed over the last few days it is getting harder to put my car in first gear. does this sound like a clutch problem or could it be something with the tranny?

Try putting it in first with the car off. Make sure you push the clutch in all the way, if it goes in with the car off and is hard to go in when the car is on then your clutch cable needs to be adjusted a little tighter. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem with my car at the moment, and believe me, it's more than irritating enough to make one want to bust out a fatty and just forget about it...

Legalize... I'm assuming you still have the stock clutch cable & quadrant? If so, try pulling up on the clutch pedal until you can hear it click... push the clutch all the way in and pull it up several times, and see if that helps at all. If not, it may be time for an aftermarket quadrant and a firewall adjuster... and possibly a new cable as well.

Yeah, and if that doesn't work, then you'll have to decide whether to buy the quarter pound of hash or a new cable/quadrant/adjuster
