The other day I was driving to Halloween Horror Nights, so you know I was stuck in some very crappy, clutch-heavy traffic. So, after a while of this, I started getting this ticking from the clutch, somewhere maybe by the quadrant. not sure if i should be worried. the cable is a Maximum Motorsports performance clutch cable with about 100 miles on it.

Edit: the tick only occurs while letting go of the clutch, and only when I use the clutch heavily like in bad traffic.

This is weird, I have this same problem. In heavy traffic conditions where you are engaging and disengaging the clutch a lot you will hear and feel a click in the clutch pedal on the way up. I have an MM clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster, and a king cobra clutch. I have been through multiple clutch cables, I am on my third one since installing the king cobra clutch, not sure if it is related and not sure why it does this.

when my last cable snapped, it did so only a few inches from the quadrant... probably around the area of the adjuster, so I wonder if the problem is around there. I better check to see if the cable is frayed which may be causing that noise.

I dont know if this will lead to anything but here goes.

I wonder if the BBK/Gripp quadrant is made for the heavier/thicker cable that came with the kit. The BBK cable is bigger than stock. The MM cable is stock size diameter cable. Maybe it's not riding on the quadrant groove the correct way. Just a thought.

hmmm trophyhead you might be on to something. actually I took a look at the piece of snapped cable and it does look like the breakage was t the quadrant, not the firewall. I'll have to look into that with more time. thanks!

I have a similar condition but mine is stock and happens when pressing it, not depressing. It is also when I am in heavy traffic. I attributed it to heavy clutching and heat  curious to find out what it is.
