I got a FRPP HD clutch put in recently. I've only put 150 miles on it with easy driving but since the day I left the shop, the clutch pedal vibrates A LOT in 1st and 2nd gear. I can hear it rattle over my music. If I gently touch the pedal with my foot I can feel the strong vibrations.

Will this go away? I'm going to talk to the installer tomorrow morning about it (since he needs to fix my speedo) but I wanted to get some opinions from you guys about the vibrations.

Cured the same prob on the 01 after a KC clutch install with an adj cable, quad and firewall adjuster (though I noticed it is creaping back again today, so time to adjust it a bit more (cables do stretch))- we just threw everything at it. I can now dial some slack into the cable, or take it out...and/or adjust it at the fork.
But I'm no clutch expert, JonJon...I just know this clutch and how it works on this car. I never expected it to be like this - I thought it would be like stock...how naive I was. We also threw a MM clutch pedal adjuster at it because the pedal travel had increased and the release point was right at the top of the travel - it sucked! Now, it's perfect. The biggest differences? - Firewall adjuster and MM clutch pedal adjuster.

It unfortunatly is very common on Mustangs b/c we still have a mechanical clutch. The same thing happened to my clutch too. The extra gripping power of the clutch caused a hot spot on your flywheel. In some cases just driving it will make it go away otherwise you need to replace the flywheel. If just driving it for a week or so does not fix the problem replace the flywheel before u damage the clutch plate. :damnit:

yea some guys say to resurface the flywheel or replace it. others say that the adjustable clutch quad fixes the prob. i heard both from people but experianced neither.

Had the EXACT same problem with my spec stage I. My clutch eventually burned out after a couple months and my flywheel was burnt bad. I replaced it with a King Cobra and Steeda firewall quadrant adjuster, and bingo, ZERO peddle vibration. I still have clutch chatter, very audible when the a/c is on, but thats a charactoristic of the clutch.

Solution, you MUST get a firewall quadrant adjuster. The pedal vibration could be caused from the clutch not being fully disengaged from the flywheel. The steeda quad fixes all this ish.

Anyways, good luck, and tackle this problem before you burn something out! In the mean time, take it very easy on your clutch!

hmm.. I found a few places that said I may need a firewall adjuster including a few of you here. I'll talk to the shop and see what they think.. Thanks.

I had the flywheel resurfaced when I got the new clutch installed. The shop said it was in good condition.

Well I spoke to the shop guy, he said it's either the clutch fork (which he thinks needs to be replaced anyways since he suspects it was the problem I had earlier) or the driveshaft... He told me he'd drive the car and look into it to get a better idea of what it is.
