I've got an '03 5 speed GT with 116k KM, and recently i got a new clutch assembly put in while the transmission was out getting a pilot bearing replaced under warranty. Now with the clutch pedal released, the pedal vibrates until it's depressed about a couple of inches. If you slightly touch the clutch pedal you can feel it vibrating quite a bit. With the pedal released, it vibrates quite loudly between 1600-2000 RPM to point that I can hear it over the radio when it's on (almost sounds like it's coming up through the dashboard). It was perfectly fine before the clutch swap.
The dealership is trying to tell me that it's because the flywheel was not machined. To me, that doesn't make sense. Are they trying to pull a fast one, or is that actually possible?
On another note, are there any known issues with these manual transmissions which would make in clunk a bit while idling? The Service Manager again insists there is, but I don't recall the transmission clunking as loud before this "work" got done.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
