Do you have an adjustable quadrant?

I had a simular problem and thought my clutch was toast, it turned out that the cable was getting hung up where it passes through the firewall and was not engaging it as it should. i got a new adjustable clutch quadrant from BBK and have had no probems since.

Also, if you have a manual means of adjustment, try adding more slack to the cable. This will bring the point of engagement down.

Good luck.

If you are using all the stock stuff, you have to pull the clutch pedal up as far as possible, then push it to the floor.

I have the Steeda kit and it's great. And yes, it's normal for the clutch pedal to be higher than the brake.
