I just recently got a new clutch kit in the 5.0, 1st is a great grab, and when i get on second and punch it it seems to slip then take off ,aswell as 3rd, it will slip for 1 or maybe 2 seconds then take off. I just ordered a new double hook quad and FWA do you guys think this will help, ill be taking it back to the shop that installed the clutch to put in the FWA and quad, is there anything i should have them look at , the clutch grabs at the top of the pedal , i think this is normal. Iv tried the 4th gear going slow then hammer it and i get no high rpms only when im in 2nd or 3rd then get on it, as far as i know the car still has the stock cable in it so what gives. Any help is appreciated.

Depending upon how close to the top of the pedal travel your point of engagement is, you might not be completely engaging the clutch. This could lead to an issue like you're experiencing.

Good luck.

Well if it doesnt slip at all in 4th when you punch it then i doubt its the clutch slipping. Try this in a parking lot. At a dead stop...put the car in 3rd or 4th depending on your rear gearing....and try to take off. The car should stall immediately, if not then the clutch is slipping.

Ill give this a try and am sure it will stall, will this hurt the clutch if i put it in 3rd and let the clutch out, when going around the 2000rpm in 3rd then gun it seems that it takes 1 to 2 seconds to grab, i can feel it , if im easy on the throttle slowly climbing on the throttle its ok but this happens only somtimes, am i just breaking in the clutch at this point or does an adjustment sound in order like hissen50 said. Cheers!
