i have a '88 gt and it doesnt want to shift even when the clutch is to the floor. So i read one post and it said if i have a stock quadrant, which i do, to pull up the clutch pedal and push up the quadrant. I did that, i havent driven it yet, but by pushing the pedal in it feels better already. getting to my question...the quadrant is plastic, and i was wondering if the little teeth on it will eventually strip out?

Oh yeah! Thats why most people run aluminum quadrants and firewall adjusters or adjustable cables.

If your cable is original it could be stretched. I just helped my brother replace his. We also put an aluminum quadrant in and firewall adjuster.

I head read numerous posts and article that the stock quadrant wears out so when I had my clutch replaced I had a Steeda setup isntalled (quadrant and firewall adjuster -- which BTW was overkill).
Ironically though, the stock quadrant was in near perfect shape even with 120K on it.
