As many of you know Im installing new clutch, rain has delayed me, but when I got this car about a month ago it had a clutch quadrant kit with it which is only an aluminum quadrant and another cable, no springs or anything else. Will I be able to use whats on the factory quadrant with the aftermarket one?

Anyone know about the Perfection clutch quadrant 4800 by makers of ZOOM?

Just not sure if I was missing some pieces, or if I need to buy some or if I can just use whats on the plastic quadrant

When I purchased the car it was very very hard to put in gear and Im hoping thats what it is and since Im doing clutch job I figured why not go head with this too hoping it will stop the problem of not being able to put in gear.

Is this an easy job for a first timer?

Also Im not sure as of right now, but it seems this cable may be a lil more shorter than the stock, would this be better? Or should I use stock cable and just use the aluminum quadrant?

Thanks in advance

Ok well all you need is the quadrant. Its 1 peice and there really nothing else to it. However heres the catch when you use something like that you lose the auto adjustment of the cable because the stock quadrant did that. It is usually fixed with an adjustable cable of Fire wall adjustable. If you have neither then thats what you need. My advice though is a stock cable with a FWA as this is the most reliable set up. If your having trouble getting it into gear the cable adjustment could most definately be your problem.

Ok well I just noticed there is already an aluminum one in there, so how do I know if I have an aftermarket cable? and if its self adjusting? I do remember tryin to pull up on pedal and it not self adjusting as described, so maybe after I get the new clutch back in I just adjust from under car? As stated it is very hard to put in gear unless car is off or in motion, how do I know if it needs to be tighter or looser? The clutch seemed stiff as is

under the car where the cable attatches to the clutch fork it would be threaded there with a nut to adjust length. BUT if thats what you have get rid of it get a stock cable and get a firewall adjuster. Only 30 for FWA and another 40-50 for stock replacement cable.
