It came with the kit from Modern Driveline in the same box as the clutch. I have a hydraulic throw out bearing and am not sure where this thing goes or even if I need it.....

We are installing Saturday morning so any help would be appreciated.

If you have a hydraulic throwout bearing, the other's not needed. Putting in a T-5 aren't you? If you are, you really should have went with an external slave setup. They're easier to adjust and repair. I've had the McCleod T/O bearing in my Ranger now for years, it's only been reliable since I worked thu the bugs in the first 2-3 years.

I just went with what they recommended....

You know I don`t know much about this stuff. Yea it`s a T5-z with hydraulic clutch, I didn`t have any idea they made an external slave, I would have looked into it.

But it`s going good so far, I had to replumb my brake lines to put the clutch master cylinder how I wanted it. I installed a combo valve in the brake system at same time, got a good firm pedal now, first time since I got the car. The clutch pedal and hydraulics are all hooked up, that went fairly smooth although very time consuming doing mockups and teardowns over and over.

A guy that owns a muffler shop is letting me use his rack saturday to put my car on so I dont have to try this on jack stands, so I`m happy bout that too.

What brand T/O bearing are you using?

The only reason I went with a hydro T/O bearing was my choice of transmission----Toploader 4 speed. With it's external linkage, there's no room to use an external slave setup. All the Mustang vendors sell an external slave setup for T-5's & Tremecs.

I think its McLeod brand.

It was in a box with a Wilwood mc, but the lines and other stuff were in McLeod boxes. The clutch is from Superior if that means anything.

Probably a McCleod then. I heard they fixed their earlier problems with em. Hope I heard right. Mine leaked from the banjo style fittings almost immediately. I replaced these with AN style hydraulic brake hose and fitings. As replaced, I had to install the unit in the bell housing with the hoses hooked up, then slide the input shaft thru it, same as a mechaincal T/O bearing. I can be adjusted as is, but it's not easy. Fortunately there's not much to adjust, there's only about 1/4" travel total in it. So you have to get the measurements right on before you stab the transmission. I also had problems with the Ranger's firewall flexing under the master cylinder. After the wall gaveway, I had to fab a reinforcement plate to fit between the wall and M/C. Make sure your firewall had plenty of meat in it to avoid flexing

It had a swivel type AN4 fitting

And I didn`t have to stick the transmision thru it, I already had the bell housing mounted to the back of the motor when we stabbed the tranny and throw out bearing into it. It was easy, real easy actually.
