Clutch Size?

Can someone tell me why my 87 GT has a 10" clutch in it.....shouldnt it have a 10 1/2"? And if i want to upgrade to a 10 1/2 do i just need to get a larger flywheel?

Mabey the previous owner put in the wrong clutch.

Your car should have a 10.5 clutch and flywheel. If it has a 10 inch, then the previous owner put the wrong flywheel/clutch in. It all works considering 83-85's have 10 inch clutches have 50 oz imbalance, the same. Just buy a flywheel from Advanced or autozone which is only like 50 bucks, and a clutch kit, like a Ford Motorsport HD... Like 160.
