Hey guys, well after 40000 miles on my '99 Clutch is slowly but surely starting to slip. Its not bad yet, only happens if i slam it into 2nd really hard or drop it in first really fast and only sometimes. Other than that, its fine and i can speed shift into 3rd at redline and still catch fine during normal driving. Anyways, im picking up a SPEC Stage 1 in a month or so. I just wanna know how much i should expect to pay for install. Any Houston guys wanna chime in?
There goes my Tri-Ax Shifter

call Houston Performance - 281 893-6080.
Why did you choose the spec clutch ? What can't you use your tri axe anymore ?
I'll probably need to put in a new clutch w/in a year. I'm sure I'll do it myself somehow. Got a few airplane mechanic friends. They may be willing to do yours too PM me some price quotes, and if you want I'll ask my friend. He does stuff like that for very reasonable costs in the Spring area.

NO, im just saying i won't have the money for the Tri-Ax anytime soon now cuz of the clutch. I have heard that SPEC has some of the best clutches around and the Stage 1 is good for 400rwhp and is only 199. King Cobra is cheape,r but ive read on this forum that its not so great, ill send you a PM.

Im having similar problems myself and I am currently looking into having mine replaced too. Its about 300 dollars for install, they have to pull your driveshaft off and a few other things while there at it. Im getting everything done at once since they will already be down there. I need a clutch that will handle about 350hp and about 375 tq to the wheels, and not break down too fast. Not to hijack your thread but anyone here have any suggestions for me?

I have the C F dual friction. So far so good, It will hold more than 500hp I have more than that at the wheels. You really don't need it unless you plan on some type of power adder.

Hey guys, i thought that the 1999 GT with Windors had 11" Clutch and Flywheel and Cobra 8 Bolt Crank, am i wrong? So, does that mean i have to buy a Cobra clutch or just the ones listed for 99-00?
