clutch/tranny problem

Well I decided to get the stang out today after it has been sitting for a few years. Good news is that after i checked the fluids and went to start it, the car had barely turned over and it was running like a dream, but the bad news is that I cant get the car to go into any gear when I push the clutch in. I managed to get the car started in gear and drive it around. Even after this, when I push the clutch in, it does not engage and the car will still drive. Anyone have any ideas of whats going on or what to do? Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!!

Well, it's definately the clutch. Start with the cable. Check to see if the fork moves when you press in the clutch. If it does, then you need to pull the tranny and check the clutch out.

I had that problem with my Cobra clone, although I had used an aftermarket clutch cable, quadrant, etc (Maximum Motorsports kit). My cable simply wasn't pulling far enough on the clutch to disengage it. Do you have an adjustable firewall adapter? Or an adjustable cable?

when i push the clutch i can feel it pull so I kind of think that the cable is ok, but I will definatly check the cable. Is it possible that the clutch plate has seized to the flywheel?

Doesn't sound too realistic. Maybe the pressure plate just gave up the ghost. Or a spring rusted out of the disc. Hard to say, you just have to get in there and look at it.
