I wish I could run cobra brakes, I have to settle for the 99+ twin piston PBR calipers. Oh well, still better than what we had stock.

I got a front and rear 2004 40th Anniversary Cobra brake kit from Performance Parts Inc. Each kit had everything possible. Each kit was just under $400. For like $15, I upgraded to stainless steel lines. The stock GT master cylinder was perfect with this setup giving me a firmer pedal, but not too firm.

The stopping ability of my car now is unreal compared to the stock crap stuff. Ford should have made these brakes standard a long long time ago. I can truly say my car is "safe" now that I can stop confidently. Of course, a decent suspension will enhance braking even further.

Get both a front and rear "kit" and be done with it. Best mod I've done so far and probably ever.

Thank you for that response Car Nut. I desperately need better brakes and have been putting it off. That's the main reason I don't drive my car alot anymore. My F-250 can stop in half the distance as my car, lol. And yes, they're good pads & rotors. I never could really get anyone (in the past) to describe "how much" of a difference the Cobra brakes are. That's what I was looking for.

hard decelleration in my dad's 04 cobra from 60-0= the "seatbelt cutting into your chest, brain sloshing to the front of your skull, momentary blackout" kind of braking performance every mustang should have!
hard decelleration in my 95 with stock brakes= "dang, i wish i had cobra brakes..."

the difference is night and day. for lack of any other way to say it, the stock sn95 GT brakes are just plain inadequate.

Yeah, I was riding in my friends cobra and he was coming up on somethin quick and I didnt think he would be able to stop in time becuase I know how long it takes me to get my car to stop, his stopped in like half the time.
