Cobra, Buillit, Mach One guys.....Rear brake pads

What's up. Where do you guys buy your brake pads at? I've been to autozone, napa, advanced, and Cee kay. They keep showing me rear GT brake pads and these will not fit over the rotor. I'm converting my Fox to 5 lug.

I guess there GT brake pads shaved down a 1/8th off an inch. How would I go about shaving them down. I dont need Hawk or 80 dollar rear brake pads. And I wont even bother with the dealers. What's the deal here?

i just went to kragens and bought a set. Do you have the pistons screwed all the way in? you dont push them in like a regular brake piston you have to screw they in. i have a bullitt but so they dont get all confused i just ask for cobra parts.

Whoa fella. Ive always used the little cube looking tool. but the most agrivating thing with that is finding which side to use. and then it has to be flipped right for the two pins to fit in right. After you over come that headache, marking it before it goes back into your tool box is a good idea. Those can also be found at an auto parts store.

in addition to the rubics cube you can also use a pair of needle nose pliers. Worked for me when I dont have time to go dig for the tools set.

Tried the cube on mine but no one had a cube that would fit. I just went and bought the autozone set and it was a breeze then. You can always borrow it from them too, I think you get 3 days to return it. I also had to screw it all the way back in to get the pads over the rotors.

just go online to one of the tire stores, tirerack.com or tires.com and click brakes. and dont get hwak, I have had nothing but trouble with them since I got them.

I have had great experiences with Hawk and would recommend them because of many people who have good experiences with them, not just a small few.

If we would go off of bad experiences, there would be no brake pads bought.

i have used needlenose pliers and if you have a cutting wheel you can use the wrench for changing the blades, it works great.

If you are looking for a decent midrange pad Raybestos or Napa Golds will work.
