Any Goods, bads or indifferences on this site with this cobra bumper:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-...014QQitemZ330224775526QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

I see cobra fronts all over, but anyone know who has the cobra rears?

Thanks

No exp. with that site/seller...I have heard OEM quality is VERY top notch on our years front/rear bumpers though.

Mine is an OEM cobra front I got from a guy who ran off the road and had a lot of spider cracks in the paint. He got a new one from the ins. and sold his for $100. IIRC the car ran off the road, threw a ditch, spun and all this was directly impacted on to the front bumper. Not one tear, rip, warped section on it....that says something to how tough the OEM one is, I think he had to have a fender replaced but the bumer was still good other than paint.

I am a over the top cheap-arse...but would really look for OEM bumpers...maybe a saleen. The rear I would either look for a v6 (just says mustang like the 94-95 cobra's) or a 96+ cobra take off. IIRC 5.0resto sells OEM bumpers and they are not TOO bad in price. They are not painted but I would rather have something like that painted on the car to match even moreso with your red paint...my .02.

Good luck.

Some guy is selling an OE bumper str8 off his Cobra that is Laser REd, but has scratches and scuffs all over it, but he wants $249 plus shipping.

Anyone have any good experiences with sites, shoot me a link!
Thanks

The cobra front bumper is by far the nicest front bumper IMHO for a 94-98. At this point I would venture to say that RC's car is more what he has made it than any "type" of mustang from the factory. The 94-95 cobra is not all that diff. from the GT anyway...its not like its a 4v compared to a 2v.

Granted I am not a huge fan of all out fake cobra's...but to me if it is done well and without the intent of ripping someone off...who really gives a flip. I have been debating on either shaving my emblems or getting cobra emblems on the fender.

Well actually I was thinking about putting cobra stuff all around...bumpers emblems etc. I was gonna do the front no matter what. Now, If I took a slow GT and put emblems on it to fool people, that would be one thing. Im talking about taking a 331 with Vortech and 500RWHP and putting Cobra stuff on it....is that so wrong The Snake emblems look awesome. I guess my Fauxbra wouldnt be as good as a true 240HP Cobra

Anyway, for now I just need some advice as to who/where to get a quality bumper at a decent price.

Thanks all!!

Clones are one thing, badging it is another but thats JMO Cobras have a certin ora about them with limited build numbers that I dont think should be coppied regardless of the HP total. If the seller has a good feed back and others have said the part is a good quality then get it.

Doesnt cloning mean "badging" too. Clones are copies. I like the "AURA", and I think they look cool. Im still apt to bypass all except the front anyway, becase the rear bumper is a lot of coin. Thanks!

you can clone w/ out the badging if you do bumpers and the hood exc exc. Also have to factor in paint to the cost of the bumper

I don't see anything wrong with Cobra stuff on a GT as long you can back it up.

Got my rear bumper from a semi local junk yard for $100. I bought the front brand new from 50resto.com.

I always liked your look, but for now I have access to the plain Cobra R hood with FRPP pins.. Also a Mach Chin Spoiler, so I will have to see how that goes also.

THanks

I dont mind the front bumper its the back one that says cobra on it because well its not a real cobra no matter how fast even though that does sound pretty sweet. And low 5.0's car is sweet as hell too.

I guess the "do or not" is debatable, but I will say it DOES look SCHWEET with the Cobra bumper. Nobody else has to know (like was said if it can be backed up). Besides people put Saleen kits, etc even though they are not true Saleens..

I do know FOR SURE that I want out of the Xenon kit so the first reasonable offer takes it!!

Do what I'm doing, Cobra front bumper and smooth( no letters ) rear bumper.

That way someone behind you doesn't know if it's a Cobra or GT lol.

thats what i would do. if you know what your looking for you can spot a clone

brakes are a big giveaway (front+rear), the airbag also says cobra on it

94/95 cobra rear bumpers only said "mustang"

94/95 (not sure about 96-98) had the "crab-claw" spoiler with the built in LED and the trunklid did not htave the 3rd brake light in them

That's the key...ONLY 0.5% of people who "care" about looking at our car would know the differences...even a smaller % for some of things you listed.

Im Putting Cobra brakes on front and Brembo rotors on rear.. I have white-face gauages. The Spoiler will be changed anyway. As far as the lettering, I like the sticky insert as a nice accent, so that option for me is out.

I wanted the smooth bumper, but the cheapest I could find was just over $300 after shipping. My bumper was damaged so I couldn't just smooth it. I didn't like the idea of bodywork on a urethane bumper anyways.

Several years ago I actually bought a V6 "MUSTANG" rear bumper on ebay, but I got ripped off. The "crack in the paint" ended up being a 4" hole filled with bondo. Oh well, I kind of glad I waited and got the Cobra bumper now.

Here's one of my fav pics.
