Well, I decided to switch to Cobra's this winter and just picked up my calipers from http://www.discbrakesrus.com They are located in Mass. which isn't that far from me so I decided to drive down there. One word, UNBELIEVABLE !! They took me through the shop to see the process. They actually sand down the calipers smooth, then powdercoat them. They even powdercoated the bracket that holds the caliper on black. I can't stress the quality of the workmanship. Here are some pics. Can't wait to get them on the car.

Are those Cobra Rears on the left?
I would love to switch to those some day.

What does the price run with the silver powdercoating?

The cobra rears and the gt rears are the same. As far as pricing for the powdercoating get in touch with Jeff @ http://www.discbrakesrus.com Great guy to deal with. Very knowledgeable.

So when you mean IN, you mean ready to be picked up. Not INSTALLED.

They look great... now get them on the car. I want to know how well they work.

The GT rear brakes should be 11" while the Cobra rear brakes should be 11.65". Only .65" difference between the discs, but I'm not sure if the calipers are different. Wouldn't the Cobra rear caliper be a little bit larger than the GT? Not sure. The FRRP catalog says you have to have 11.65" rotors in order to use the Cobra rear calipers. Maybe I'm reading the specs wrong?

Anyways, those calipers are absolutely beautiful!

Can't wait for pictures!

the pads are thinner to make up for the difference in the rotors in the rear.

what did you gather up so far to do the swap? Is the master cylinder necessary?

i would like to do the swap sometime in the future.

the calipers are the same, the bracket that bolts the caliper too the rear is bigger on the cobra which spaces it further away for the larger dia. rotor .you can switch to cobra rears with just the brackets rotors and pads.

I'm looking to get their complete brake kit which includes the Cobra front and rear setup: discs, calipers, SS lines, pads, and a few other parts.

Where can someone buy the Cobra master cylinder to correct the pedal feel?

Oh yeah, it looks like to complete kit for front and rear runs just under $1,100.00. Not bad for a total brake upgrade, not to mention the safety upgrade. It looks like you can choose between several colors of calipers for each kit: red, black, yellow, and silver. Very cool.
