How well does 5.0 Cobra heads with 1.7s go with the trickflow stage 1 cam? How is the clearance from valve to piston? Is it safe? Oh and do you think this setup with cobra intake....and supporting fuel and air parts will do good with a VORTECH SQ trim? Thanks in Advance

I think with a TFS stage 1 cam and 1.7's, your pistons and valves will become quite acquainted with one another. The lift with 1.6 rockers is .499/.510, so with 1.7 rockers, you'll be at .530/.542. That'll leave a mark for sure on stock pistons. I don't think the TFS cam is a good blower candidate. To maximize your combo, you may want to consider a custom cam. A lot of people on this site like to use Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction Systems for their custom cams, and I've heard nothing but good things about the cams he makes. My next combo, whenever that may be, will use one of his cams based on the recommendations I've seen of his work here.
