Hello everyone, Im going to be doing a cobra intake swap on my 94 gt today, and i just wanted to see if anyone had a few tips to make it go buy faster or whatever.

Also the supplies i Have with the intake manifold are:

Gaskets inbetween the lower manifold and the heads
Gasket for inbetween the Lower and Upper
All Hardware

Someone told me i need RTV Silicone stuff to put all around the lower manifold or something also.... is there anything else?

thanx

yeah on the front and back, where its inbetween the heads, put pleanty of rtv on the corners to hold those small gaskets. Otherthan that, make sure the surfaces are clean so coolant wont go into ur oil from a leak.

Do a search there is plenty of advice there as well as the FAQ.
Good Luck.

While you have stuff apart I would put in a new thermostat. I had to go to Lowe's and purchase a few plugs for the lower intake that were not supplied. Make sure you replace any cracked or hardened vacuum lines. Good Luck!

R.t.v in the corners and don't use the gasket kit with the cork ends. The rubbers are the best. Now for something I just went thru. While you have the lower manifold off, assuming it's used, pull the pcv out, remove the pcv sleeve, look into the hole. There is a kind of mesh inside. This is a "filter" . REMOVE IT. The one I got was carboned up and after the install I had so much crankcase pressure it pushed the dipstick out. An old ford tech told me when the "filter" clogs enough it will blow the seals, pan gasket, etc. I pulled the upper, removed the screen mesh inside(pain in the) re-assembled it and no pressure. He told me as long as you change your oil and pcv like you should you'll never need the "filter".

That's not a filter. It is designed to keep the oil in your crankcase, instead of in your intake tract. If you're worried about it being plugged, hose it down with carb cleaner.
