Well i have a cobra, and i can get a really good deal on a used edelbrock intake and ford E cam for dirt cheap. Like i think 200.00 -300.00 for both or possibly even less. edelbrock website says the performer makes 12hp over the cobra intake not sure if thats at wheels......but i was wondering if i should pick this up. Some people say the cobra intake is good for alot of power but im just wondering what should i expect if i changed only the intake on my stock car.(continue pulling harder to redline?) not looking for the opinon of those who think thats its cheap and i should get it, possibly just to resale it.

The most you'd get with either the cobra or edlebrock is 20hp tops, including the tb. On a stock engine, the power gained by both are going to be compairable.

BTW, make sure the edlebrock is the performer, as anything else is going to hurt more than it helps.

i think its the edelbrock performer, altho it may be the rpm, in the pictures on the website they look the same, how can i tell the difference?. heh im just wondering if the performer would be a decent upgrade from my cobra intake...or maybe more decent once i get a cam and shorty headers or other mods.

The cobra intake is fina up until around 400hp. You wont gain enough h/p to justify the added cost.

The neck on the RPM is straight while the neck on the 5.0 is moved a little towards the front of the car... I think the RPM intake will say RPM on it too

It will say RPM on the upper intake. I would stay with the cobra there really will not be much if any hp gain. Save the money for another mod. Or if its that cheap they you describe it than buy it and resale it for more $$$.
