Cobra is broke!

So my car is overheating in stop and go traffic. I know it is the high speed fan because I do not hear the high speed fan coming on any more. Where is the relay and what is the best way to test for the exact cause of this problem? Would it be the relay or a temp sensor or the fan itself has failed? I will be diagnosing it this weekend. Thanks in advance...

Does the fan engage if you turn the A/C on ? If so, then you can rule out the fan itself.

Dunno about the fan relay location (unless there's a possibility you have to check for the CCRM, which would be underneath the fenderwell splash guard on the right front passenger side).

Does the fan come on at all?
First check should be the fuse under the hood. It happened in my 03 GT not too long ago.

Well I checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. So I bought two more fuses at O'Reillys and installed a new one. When the engine warmed up enough to make the fan kick on a horrible noise was heard like bearings or the fan blades rubbing against some other part. I will remove the fan assembly this weekend. Looked up the fan assembly on Rock Auto and its pretty expensive... It will be fun to work on my car its been a while. I have been too busy with working on the house I just bought last summer to do anything much more that just keep the car clean no time to work on it, now I have to

Good to hear it was that & something easy.

For me, I skipped that key first step. Dunno why, I know better, but I did. So it ended up costing me $200+ for a .50 cent fix, lol.

So I removed the cooling fan assembly from the car just now. When I got it out I could clearly see where the blade was cracked and rubbing the shroud. So hopefully the fan motor is ok and I can just order a new blade for $20 from partstrain.com. It was easy to get the cooling fan assembly out and it was easy to remove the blade from the motor. Should be no problem to mount up a new blade.

That sucks man.
mine's down too . I think it threw a timing chain but I haven't opened it up yet > look's like I'll be doing cam's this winter after all and maybe a 5.0 stroker with tax refund if I get one > the car will just stay parked till then.

dont mean to hijack,,your all over if you come across a place to get head other than dealer/frpp lmk

im stuck with rentals now,,focus/fusion/kia 40/kia soul...we change every couple of weeks...as ugly as it is the soul has been the best,,lol....
