Anyone have any issues installing their power pipe with it being too short? I have the steeda pipe that was made for our (Vortech) kit.
Just got done installing mine and EVERYTHING seems like its too short. The pipe itself seems to need to be about 3 inches longer OR that blue silicone hose is too short. That stuff must cost more then gold, both Vortech AND steeda both seem to skimp on it.

Everything is barely together. Like the hoses are hanging on to the pipe by a thread, A good jolt and I think the center section of hose will come right off. I tried to even it out so there would be as much hose as possible on each end but no dice, it still seems to be to short.

Anyone else have this problem? How did you solve them??

Do you have one on your car? Im wondering if its really gonna add 2 pounds of boost. Ive done a ton of mods to my car over the winter, and hopefully will be in the mid 11s this year.

yes I do but I added other things at the same time...can't say how much boost I got just from the powerpipe.

I just installed mine and if anything, mine was too long. I had a hood clearance problem becuase the pipe needed to be shoved down into the hose / coupling farther. Sorry, I know that's not much help.

Where in ohio do you live knife? Ill trade ya. :)

Mine feels like its barely holding on. I might take the main tube back off and have a friend weld 3 more inches onto it.

Do you still have the black plastic piece that came with the Vortech kit? I used that to extend the pipe to the MAF so it could be properly mounted to the fenderwell. Kinda sucked having to modify a piece to make the new piece work, but after it was all said and done it came out fine..... :nice:

I only had a max of 8psi when I had my dynotune done....

I didn't gain chit, but it looks cool.... :p

You have to play with it. I had to bend the bracket holding the MAF in order to get proper alignment on both ends of the boost pipe. My hood hit, so I'll probably have to do some dremeling to the underside of it to make clearance.

And I'm seeing 10lbs of boost with stock pulley.

Update for those that remember, I got one of the first batches of pipes, and I was having idling issues because of where the bypass hookup was on the pipe. I had it moved over to the supercharger inlet, and now the car runs and idles perfect. :nice:

Looking forward to dynoing when the car comes out in the spring.

Mine is for a Novi 2000, and the only problem with it was the MAS bracket not being able to mount to the same 2 bolts in the fender. Maybe this is on purpose though cause if it was solid mounted you would need a flex hose to allow for engine movement.

My pipe was one of the early ones. It seems like the new ones are two piece where as mine is in one piece. Mine is about two inches short of reaching the mounting bolts on the inside of the fender. I agree that if it was mounted to the fender it would have no give to it as the engine moves and could cause some damage maybe???? I thought about cutting mine and adding a piece of hose, but instead i split a piece of 3/4" heater hose and lined the opening in the fender and just left the MAF unbolted from the fender. I have had no problems with it this way, causes no damage or noise. Here's a couple of pics:
