Hey guys! Will a Cobra oil pump work in a GT pan. I mean specifically will it drain the pan because it is higher volume? I don't want to have no oil pressure because the pan is run dry. My GT takes 6L of oil. How much does a Cobra take or does it's pan hold any more?

not true, SOHC's & DOHC'S use the same engine oil pan. you'll be fine.

no its the same pan, part # and all(XR3Z-6675-DA) no difference in 1997 to 2004 oil pans on SOHC's & DOHC's and the only thing that makes the 1996 pans different than the 1997 up is 1996 pans have a "low oil sensor" in them which was dropped for 1997 production.

So I guess I don't need to upgrade to a Cobra pan after all. I'll just add the windage tray.
Thanks Randy.

well yes, if you get the full length windage tray from Canton, but the factory DOHC tray is not worth the effort IMHO as you need different studs, spacers and nuts to attach it and it only covers the sumped part of the oil pan..

yes, all MK8's have the "LOS" too. if you had a 1998 wth the "LOS" in the side of the oil pan, then I'd bet the engine was changed.
