Cobra Speedometer

*wrong* (i thought it was, thats what i heard) I cant tell you what needs to be done for sure but i would be guessing.. taking off dash, unscrewing the speedometer etc.., take out pins, pop off old faces, put new faces on, screw in the speedometer etc, and try to get all the needles correct, screw on dash.. but i dont know know.
 
how is it mechanical? the cluster is fully electronic, no mechanical parts going into it. if you are dropping a 94-95 cobra cluster into a 94-95 gt it just drops in...well same with the v6, but the tach will be off. some minor wiring differences need to be changed if you are putting a 96-98 into a 94-95
 
I guess I'm pretty much asking is: wouldn't I need the whole cluster not just the face? AND if I used a Cobra computer would it effect the speedometer. Like if I put used a Cobra computer on a GT.

You need to have faces that match the gauge, of course. A Cobra cluster is a drop-in replacement for a GT or V6, and no the tach and speedo won't be off if you swap. The EEC is independent from the cluster, you don't need to swap in a Cobra EEC to use a Cobra cluster.

well, when you change out gagues, you have to reset them to your car... assuming you have a 94-95, since that is this forum :D, it will be difficult... you will have to drive through a radar trap, and set the needle on your gague that way, and I don't even know how you're going to do it for your tach...

-and I meant "modern mustang", 99+ they have a digital odometer, that you can change so it reads MPH, RPM, oil, all that stuff, make it much easier to calibrate your gagues...
 
The accuracy is not in the gauges, it's in the speedo gear. Dropping in the Cobra cluster will leave you as accurate (or inaccurate, as the case may be) as you are now with the cluster you have. I'm running a Cobra cluster myself.
